Volunteers are wanted to help bring a junior Parkrun to Sutton.

The event, for four to 14-year-olds, would take place every Sunday at 9am.

It would be a free activity to enable young people to access regular exercise.

Now Ashfield District Council isappealing for volunteers to help.

A spokesman said: “Knowing that you are part of making this activity happen could be very rewarding.

“It doesn’t matter if you can’t commit to volunteering every week — the more people that can help with the organisation, the more flexible we can be in terms of the commitment that we need.

“Ashfield District Council, Parkrun UK, local councillors and local schools are committed to bringing a junior parkrun to Sutton in early 2020.

“We will need volunteers from the local community to ensure its long-term future.

“We would like to hear from you if you think that you could help in any way or know of someone who might be able to.”
