Video: Howzat for fundraising to help their village club

Posted onPosted on 5th Sep

Junior players from Farnsfield Cricket Club took part in a net-a-thon to play their part in the club’s appeal to survive the coronavirus pandemic — and more than doubled their £500 fundraising target.

The day consisted of a netting marathon, challenging fitness activities, a bowl-off against some of the club’s coaches and a battle against the bowling machine.
Highest scores were: U11s — Jack Rogers 110 not out, U13s — Will Marshall 109 not out; U15s — Nathan Lee 125 not out.

Harry Ballard bowled coach James Bowker for a golden duck.

The fun day also included a raffle and a pebble hunt for Farnsfield CC painted rocks in the village.

Natalie Chadbourne, a parent of an under-11 player, organised the net-a-thon crowdfunder idea.

“I am absolutely blown away by how committed the children have been in their challenge and so grateful to each and every person that supported the cause,” she said.

“This village really has a lovely community vibe. Thank you.”
