Mansfield held its first walking football tournament at One Call Stadium, the home of Mansfield Town FC, organised by Shaun Hird, sports development officer at Mansfield District Council.

Teams from Heanor, Hucknall, Wakefield and Mansfield took part on a league basis in wet conditions, playing each other twice, with the top two meeting in the final .

Mansfield Senior Reds won seven and drew one of their eight matches before defeating Derbyshire League champions Heanor 3-1 in the final to become the first Mansfield walking football champions.

Organisers thanked Mansfield District Council for organising the event and Mansfield Town for allowing use of its facilities.
