Sporting challenge at Samworth

Primary school pupils from Abbey, Berry Hill, Wynndale and Oak Tree Lane schools took part in an athletics competition at Samworth Church Academy. Events included obstacle races, long jump, javelin, speed bounce and relay races. Oak Tree Lane won.

Mr David Hunt, Samworth teacher and event organiser, said the teams got excited at the close-run events and a good number of parents attended.

“We hope that Samworth Church Academy provided a fantastic opportunity for year 3 and 4 students to take part in the athletics challenge. It was a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish and the students who took part were absolutely magnificent within their events.

“It was a privilege to have organised this event with superb assistance from the year 7 and 8 sports leadership group at the Academy.”
