QPR defender joins Stags

Injury-ravaged Mansfield Town have signed young centre-half Jamie Sendles-White on a one-month emergency
loan from Queen’s Park Rangers.

Stags’ chairman John Radford gave the green light to the move yesterday following the news that
seven first team players will be sidelined ahead of the Stags’ Sky Bet League Two match tomorrow at Portsmouth.

The defender, who has been with the Premier League club since he was 15, signed a new one-year deal with the Hoops in the summer after a number of impressive displays in the elite development squad.

Sendles-White was also part of the Rangers’ team that reached the Professional Development League Two play-off final in April.

Manager Paul Cox told the Stags official website www.mansfieldtown.net: “We’ve had to move into the market as a result of our injury situation and we’ve brought in a player, in Jamie, who has international experience with Northern Ireland at youth and U21 level.

“He also featured in QPR’s pre-season tour of Germany and is a player who they rate very highly.

“I’d like to thank QPR for allowing Jamie to join us,” he added.

The 20-year-old is eligible to play in Mansfield’s FA Cup first round tie on Saturday, 8th November and is available for selection tomorrow at Fratton Park.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old goalkeeper Adam Bishop has travelled with the squad to Portsmouth whilst Dimitar Evtimov remains out with a groin strain.
