ASHFIELD Paralympian Ollie Hynd MBE, who is looking towards this summer’s Commonwealth Games, received a boost when he was given the disabled sportsperson of the year award at the 22nd annual Nottinghamshire Sports Awards, organised by Nottinghamshire County Council and Sport Nottinghamshire.

The award capped a memorable 2013 for the swimmer, who added the world title to his gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympics.

Ollie is supported by Nottinghamshire County Council’s Shining Stars fund and Mansfield District Council.
