MP backs bowls club

Posted onPosted on 12th May

Mansfield MP Ben Bradley visited Brierley Park Bowls Club at Manor Park Sports Complex, Mansfield Woodhouse, to find out more about the sport.

Ben, in his capacity as a county councillor for Mansfield North — and alongside other Nottinghamshire County councillors — previously donated money to help keep the club running.

The money was donated from Ben’s Divisional Fund and during the visit Brierley Park thanked him for the donation. They also showed him the positive impact bowls has on both those who play it and the wider community.

Ben said: “It was great to spend time visiting the club and meeting Simon and Jane.

“A number of county councillors, including myself, helped out over the last year with some kit.

“It was brilliant to see it and hear how that money has helped to keep the club going.

“I am a self-confessed sports nut, however I will admit my knowledge of bowls was lacking before this visit.

“It was brilliant to learn more about the sport and all the positive impacts it has on its players, with the heavy social aspect making bowls a great way to stay active.”

Brierley Park is looking to recruit people who are looking to give a new sport a try, call 01623 558334 or email [email protected].
