Mansfield mayor Andy Abrahams has donated £500 from his 500 Fund to the Armchair Club Sports Foundation Ambitious Athlete Scheme, which works to benefit talented local young people in need of support.

Geoff Waller, one of the trustees of the foundation, said he was delighted to receive the donation.

The Armchair Club works closely with the Mansfield Schools Sports and Games co-ordinator Nicki Biggs to identify young talented sports people across Mansfield, whose circumstances limit their ability to pursue their sporting dreams due to lack of funding for such items as travel expenses, kit requirements, and club fees.
