Fundraising night for Ollie Hynd

Posted onPosted on 10th Oct

The Wonderers are starring at a rock ‘n’ roll Hallowe’en night to raise funds to help Paralympic star Ollie Hynd MBE compete at the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio.

Ollie, who won gold, silver and bronze at the London games two years ago, has had his funding cut as he bids to continue his success in the swimming pool.

The star swimmer also won two golds and a silver at the European Championships earlier this year and wrote himself into the history books when he won gold at the Commonwealth Games – meaning he is the only Paralympic swimmer to hold all four major titles at the same time for the same event, the 200m individual medley.

The fundraising night is being held at Mansfield Town FC’s One Call Stadium in the Kevin Bird Suite.

The event, which welcomes rock ‘n’ roll and Hallowe’en fancy dress, is being supported by Mansfield company Acorn Signs, who will donate money for every person who attends the night..

Tickers are £5, children free, and available from the football club on 01623 482482 e-mail [email protected]
