Free gymnastics open day at Oak Tree Leisure Centre

Posted onPosted on 11th Nov

Oak Tree Leisure Centre in Mansfield has announced a free gymnastics open day on Saturday, 23rd November, for 4 to 11 year olds.

Sessions last one hour and start at 10am, 11.30am, and 1pm, all are delivered by the More Gymnastics Academy, following British Gymnastics-approved programmes.

Oak Tree general manager Adam Spooner said: “We’re really looking forward to the free open day. We’ve seen good growth in the popularity of the sport at Oak Tree Leisure Centre since we introduced the More Gymnastics Academy in 2018, but there’s always room for more.

“What’s great about gymnastics is it is so adaptable and our coaches are able to change sessions to suit all needs and abilities, so everyone taking part gets the benefit of a sport, which teaches such key skills as coordination, balance, agility, dedication and self-confidence.”

On the day, parents/guardians should make sure children are dressed in appropriate clothing; they can wear a T-shirt and shorts, or leggings – just something they’re comfortable in. We also recommend bringing along a water bottle. For safety reasons, any jewellery needs to be removed before the sessions.

For more information about the gymnastics programme at Oak Tree, or to reserve a spot for your child/children at the open day, call the team on 0345 000 0231 or email Oak Tree duty manager [email protected]
