Disappointment for Stags

Mansfield Town manager Adam Murray refused to be too downhearted after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Luton Town.

The Stags missed several good chances as Luton keeper Mark Tyler denied Matt Green, Nathan Thomas and Jack Thomas, and the visitors were punished on the hour when Ryan Tafazolli pulled down Craig Mackail-Smith, who got up to convert the penalty.

Murray said: “We have come here to one of the team that will be in the play-offs or top three at the end of the season and we should have got something out of the game

“Their players were coming up to us and saying we should have got something.

“The group is still positive as we know how good we are.”

The Stags lost midfielder Chris Clements through injury. He is unlikely to feature next Saturday against Plymouth Argyle, when Nicky Hunt will be suspended.
