Chance to play netball at new sessions

A new series of children’s and adults’ netball programmes is being put together in Mansfield, encouraging both newcomers and people who have played before to return to the sport.

The programmes have been put together by Nottinghamshire Netball development officer Claire Bowen and will be run at Mansfield Rugby Club in a partnership between the RFU and England/Nottinghamshire Netball.

Back To Netball will run on Tuesdays, from 10.30am to 11.30am, starting on 4th July. The series of sessions aims to introduce people back to the sport and is primarily for women, including those who have not played the sport for a long time or ever.

Walking Netball will run on Thursdays, from 10.30am to 11.30am, starting on 6th July. This is netball played at walking pace a slight tweak of the rules.

For younger players a Netball Youth Camp is planned for Thursday, 27th July, from 10am to 3pm. It is aimed at those aged 11 to 14.

Claire said: “It will give junior netballers the chance to get together and take to the court during the school holidays.”

The camp costs £35 for England Netball members and £40 for non-members, with an early bird discount price of £25 for bookings before 30th June.
