Chance to join sports club for young people with learning disabilities

Posted onPosted on 11th Aug

Special Olympics Mansfield, UK, a fun sports club for young people aged over eight with learning disabilities, is looking for new members.

The club allows young people to try multi sports with a different sport each term. So far it has covered bowls, cricket, tennis, football, boccia, basketball and archery to name a few.

Anyone who becomes particularly good at an activity will be directed towards a specialist club for that sport.

The club meets on Wednesdays during term time, from 6pm to 7pm, at Rainworth Miners’ Welfare Football Club’s ground and sometimes at The Garibaldi School, Forest Town.

The first sessions is free and further sessions cost £3.

Parents are encouraged to stay and support their young people, who need to take along a drink and wear sports clothing.

New members are always welcome to join Special Olympics Mansfield, UK, contact Debbie on 07975 803912 or message the group on Facebook.
