Mansfield Town revealed the permanent signing of James Baxendale on a free transfer from Walsall late on Monday.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder initially joined the club on loan from the Saddlers on 9th January and has put pen-to-paper on an 18-month deal at One Call Stadium.

Baxendale was man-of-the-match on his debut against Stevenage after scoring a vital second-half goal and has since started every game, helping the Stags to secure nine points from a possible 15.
