Bank holiday cricket bonanza at Farnsfield

Farnsfield Cricket Club is hosting a bank holiday cricket bonanza to celebrate the success of its senior and junior teams, including coaching with former England internationals.

On the evening of Friday, 25th August, Farnsfield 3rds team and Sunday Development squads will be playing T10 matches and having a BBQ at The Acres ground, Farnsfield.

On Saturday, 26th August, the women’s and girls’ team will be playing a T20 match in the morning, followed by Farnsfield 2nds playing Shirebrook CC in a Bassetlaw League Division One match.

There will be a ladies’ bottomless brunch in the marquee at 3pm whilet the 2nd team are playing. Cocktails and food will be served and tickets are on sale now.

The following day, Sunday, 27th August, will be Farnsfield CC’s Community Day, when everyone is welcome to join in sports day games in the morning, followed at 3pm by a Junior T20 match. There will also be a BBQ.

On Monday, 28th August, former England international players will be running coaching sessions in the morning and then, in the afternoon, will take on a Farnsfield side in a T20 match.

Before the match there will be a three-course lunch and chance to chat to the England legends and take part in a silent auction.

The T20 match, which starts at 3pm, is open to all.

The club has enjoyed a successful summer of cricket with all six senior teams — 1st, 2nd and 3rd Saturday teams, Sunday 1st team and Sunday development team, and the women’s and girls’ team performing creditably over the last four months.

The junior sides have also had a good season with the under-13s and under-15s teams vying for top position in each of their respective leagues and the under-15s team are to play in the League Cup final.
