Slimmers from the Wednesday Slimming World group at Blidworth have lost 63 stones over six weeks and raised money for charity.

Leader Caroline Dobson is pictured presenting Dr Peter Rose, chairman of the Cornwater Club, with a cheque for £198.

The slimmers raised the money through a sponsored slim; coffee and cake groups; and by collecting small change.

Caroline said: “Raising money for community charities is close to our hearts at Slimming World Blidworth Group, and we think it’s something special to be involved in.

“I’m really proud of my slimmers for pulling together to help the Cornwater Club whilst losing weight, getting healthier and having some fun at the same time.”

Chairman Dr Peter Rose said: “The slimmers have achieved a fantastic result both in terms of their weight loss and the support they have given our charity.

“The money will be used to continue to provide a variety of stimulating activities for our members to enjoy together, helping to alleviate the social isolation of being at home alone.”
