Samworth Christmas fair

Samworth Church Academy held its Christmas Fair this week attended by many family and friends. The fair had raffles and stalls with gifts and refreshments, all manned by Academy students. There was a hot food stall run by Academy Chef Les Purcell and a glittering Santa’s grotto for youngsters.

A popular raffle prize was a hamper donated by Sir David Samworth and won by Mrs Wheatley and Kaysha Wright, a student at the Academy, won the ‘How many presents in Santa’s sack?’ competition.

The event raised £1132.18 which counts towards students’ ‘Pound Challenge’ where students are given £1 and use their entrepreneurial skills to turn in to £50. This in turn is paid in to the Outward Bound fund for students.
