Princesses enjoy party with superheroes

Posted onPosted on 22nd Aug

Hundreds of children, families, and friends enjoyed meeting superheroes and princesses at a third very successful event organised by the Mansfield BID in the town centre this year — and there are still more events to come in 2022!

Every child picked up superhero or princess goodies, including slap bands and bracelets, the chance to make make a tiara, superhero books and crayons, and stickers.

Joining Mansfield BID at the event were other town centre businesses. Children were given free goodies from Sensational Sweets N Treats, free glitter tattoos, balloon characters, and sweets provided by the Nexus team.

Clinton Cards made balloon decorations to give the Market Place a party atmosphere.

Mansfield BID operations manager Sue Rogers said: “What a fantastic day we all had. The sun shone, the event was extremely busy, and there was a great atmosphere in the Market Place.

“Lots of children came dressed as their favourite characters and were thrilled to meet our superheroes and the beautifully-dressed princesses. It was lovely to see so many children enjoying themselves.”

Captain Mansfield, of the Stars and Stripes Party Centre in the Handley Arcade, and The Little Princess Parties, of Stockwell Gate, two relatively new businesses in Mansfield, provided activities and entertained crowds.

More than £500-worth of prizes were given away in a fancy dress competition, where one of the judges was John B Tannen, Mansfield’s own superhero and stuntman who has featured in action films.

Other attractions included a Capri sports car, loaned from Classics by Century; a hot rod, and transport brought by Spiderman and Captain Mansfield.
