Park celebrates awards

A Nottinghamshire country park is celebrating after receiving awards from two online organisations recognising excellent feedback from visitors.

Rufford Abbey Country Park has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award which honours hospitality excellence and has been named as a runner up in the Netmums Outdoor Play Awards, one of Britain’s most popular parenting websites.

Linda Hardy, Visitor Services Manager for country parks at Nottinghamshire County Council said: “Web forums such as Netmums and TripAdvisor give people the opportunity to post up their own personal and candid views about their experiences when they visit a tourist attraction.

“We are very pleased to hear that we have received these awards from these organisations as it reflects that people are enjoying their visits to Rufford.”

Rufford received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence awards for 2014, based on impartial reviews by tourists and park visitors.

Marc Charron, president of TripAdvisor for Business said: “TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional hospitality businesses for consistent excellence.

“The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers. We want to applaud exceptional hospitality businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience.”

The Netmums Outdoor Play Awards was an online poll for members to vote for their favourite outdoor play venue. More than 1.7million mums, dads and childcarers who are registered Netmums members were eligible to vote, and Rufford was voted as a runner up by its members in the East Midlands region.
