Panto stars to entertain at library

TV presenter Amy Thompson from Channel 5’s Milkshake! and other panto stars will meet youngsters at Mansfield Library this weekend.

Amy Thompson (Princess Briar Rose), Adam Moss (Silly Billy) and Michael Quinn (Prince), are appearing at Mansfield Palace Theatre this festive season for the exciting production of Sleeping Beauty from Saturday, November 29 to Sunday, January 4.

And they will be at Nottinghamshire County Council’s Mansfield Library to take part in its Sleeping Beauty fun day on Saturday between 11am and 1pm, where youngsters will make crowns and wands, listen to the tale of Sleeping Beauty and meet the panto stars, from midday to 12.30pm.

Councillor John Knight, Committee Chairman for Culture at Nottinghamshire County Council said: “There are a wide range of fun events and activities taking place during December in our libraries for families. We are very pleased that some of the panto stars appearing at Mansfield Palace Theatre are taking time out to meet with children as part of Mansfield Library’s fun day this weekend.

“Our libraries are modern, cultural, community and information hubs and host a wide range of events offering something for everyone and this is another good example of working in partnership with another local organisation.”

Also starring in this year’s Mansfield Palace Theatre pantomime is Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle (aka Janice Battersby) who is playing the Bad Fairy, Carabosse, and Hollyoaks star Sarah-Jane Buckley (Kathy Barnes) who will be the Good Fairy.
