Panto on course to break records

This year’s pantomime at the Palace Theatre, Mansfield, Sleeping Beauty, is set to break all Palace Box Office records and is well on course to reach 97% sold over the five week run – with over 32,000 people having attended.

Sales are ahead of the same time last year meaning that the theatre has already sold last year’s finishing total of 94% sold, which in itself was a remarkable final capacity

If the sales pattern continues as it has over the last few weeks, the theatre is on course to smash that record and potentially hit a 97% record capacity by the end of the run on 4 January, 2015.

Andrew Tucker, Cultural Services Manager, said: “The sales pattern has been text book perfect as we have been sold out performances from the beginning of the run right up to Christmas but have good availability at the end of the run. We hope that if people have loved the show, they will tell their friends, and it’s great to know that we can accommodate people who want to come, who still haven’t booked!”

He added: “There are some limited performances but mostly good availability from Boxing Day evening with the best chances from New Year onwards. It’s exciting to know that we are so close and that the public can help us achieve our all time record!”

The Box Office team have recorded excessively busy sales periods and are working hard to process all bookings coming in. Should you wish to book tickets, you can call the Box Office on 01623 633133 or book online at

The show stars Coronation Street favourite Vicky Entwistle (Janice Battersby) as the Bad Fairy Carabosse; Milkshake presenter Amy Thompson as Sleeping Beauty; Sarah-Jane Buckley as The Good Fairy and comedy star Adam Moss as Silly Billy.

Tickets are priced £13.84, £12.81 for concessions and £49.20 for a family of four. All of the above ticket prices include a 2.5 per cent booking fee.
