A Sutton opticians’ team is raising its glasses after being shortlisted in the prestigious Optician Awards.

Specsavers in the Idlewells Shopping Centre has reached the final stages of the national competition in the Multiple Practice of the Year category.

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted, especially as it comes on the back of a challenging year,” said Nigel Davidson, store director.

“To be recognised in this way is testament to our wonderful team and their ongoing support and commitment. I feel incredibly humble to work with them all.”

The store was a finalist in 2019 and has previously won the category twice.

“It will be tough competition on the night though,” added Nigel.

“We are up against three other practices, two of which are fellow Specsavers stores — so bring on the healthy rivalry.”

Entrants in the category were judged on customer service care alongside the clinical, commercial and community success of the store.

Following last year’s virtual event, this year winners will be announced and presented with trophies at a glittering black-tie dinner and celebration at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane on 2nd December.
