Nurses urged to return

Posted onPosted on 22nd Oct

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is supporting previously registered nurses to return to the profession by holding a Return to Practice event at King’s Mill Hospital on Friday 24 October.

The Trust which runs King’s Mill and Newark Hospitals recognises the invaluable skills and experience these people have and are offering training and support to help them return to the NHS.

Susan Bowler, Executive Director of Nursing and Quality at the Trust said: “People may have left their nursing careers for personal reasons such as caring for their family or choosing to bring their children up but now feel that they are unable to return. We want to help them return to the career that they loved and bring their skill and experience back into our hospitals. We understand that it can be a big decision for people and they may have lots of questions.”

Staff will be available in the King’s Treatment Centre, King’s Mill Hospital on Friday, 24 October between 10am and 3pm to answer any questions that people may have about returning to nursing.

Susan Bowler continued: “We hope that people will be able to come along and have their questions answered. We understand that returning to nursing may be daunting and inevitably some things are likely to have changed but we will offer all the support and training needed. The Trust has fantastic facilities to help returning nurses care for patients and we look forward to welcoming people back to the profession.”
