New name for school

ROBIN Hood Primary and Nursery School in Mansfield Woodhouse has officially changed its name to The Bramble Academy — and is now one of three academies in The Evolve Trust founded by The Brunts Academy.

The chief executive of the trust, Janice Addison, said: “We are embarking on an exciting journey to ensure the children get the best education possible.

“The enthusiasm from the children and staff about learning is great to see. As we said to the children in assembly, we are going to great places and will get to the very top, aiming high and becoming the best that we can.”

The academy’s makeover included a new uniform. On the first day of term, children, teachers and TAs experienced a fun educational-themed day.

Parents and carers were also invited for coffee and cakes to meet trust directors and Bramble governors.

New head Anna Froggatt said: “We take great pride in being part of The Bramble Academy and we are all excited to be working with Evolve to ensure we achieve the very best we can.

“The children know that we are off to great places and it will be all of us together who make the change.

“There has been a wonderful buzz of enthusiasm and optimism, not only in school from staff and pupils but also in the playground from parents, carers and members of the community.”

Year one student Chloe said: “I love my new uniform. It is so smart and I like all the new things we have been learning.

“My class made up a song about being proud of being at The Bramble Academy.

“I will sing it to my friends because I am proud.”
