New health trust governors

Posted onPosted on 3rd Nov

FOUR new public governors have been voted in at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust following summer elections.

More than 3,700 votes were cast by trust members across the three constituencies. The new governors are: John Barsby, Mansfield; Kevin Stewart, Ashfield; Sue Holmes, Ashfield; and Sue Moss, Newark and Sherwood.

Sean Lyons, chairman of the trust, said: “I am delighted to welcome our new governors to the trust and would like to thank all the candidates who put their name forward for this election.

“I look forward to working with John, Sue, Kevin, Sue and the rest of the council of governors in our efforts to champion and deliver the best care, service and wellbeing outcomes for each individual in the communities we serve.”

Governors play an important role in holding the trust accountable for the services it provides, as well as helping it deliver quality care to local communities. Governors also hold non-executive directors to account for the performance of the Board and represent the interests of trust members and the public.

Governors are elected from the trust’s membership of over 20,000 and must live locally in Ashfield, Mansfield, Newark & Sherwood and Derbyshire. Joining is simple and can be done online at www.sfh-tr.nhs.uk by calling 01623 622515 ext 3570 or by emailing [email protected]
