Moonlighting for hospices

Mansfield Town players Ryan Tafazolli and Ollie Palmer join Miss Mansfield, Grace Turner, to launch the walk.

CHARITY walkers are being urged to step forward and raise money for the John Eastwood Hospice.
People from across Mansfield and Ashfield are needed for the Mansfield Moonlight And Memories Walk on Saturday, 7th June, which will boost funds for the Sutton hospice and the Rainbows Hospice for children, Loughborough.
The 3.7-mile circular walk will start and finish at Mansfield Town Football Club’s One Call Stadium. The walk starts at 10pm and walkers will be treated to a midnight feast and entertainment from radio station Mansfield 103.2.
Money raised will help the upkeep of the local hospice, which receives no government funding. Last year it spent £200,000 on roof refurbishments and it is planning to replace £10,000 special beds and visitors’ toilets. The Rainbows Hospice is celebrating 20 years of care and wants to raise an extra £100,000 this year.
Organisers believed the walk is a first for Mansfield and said it could become an annual event.
The walk is open to anyone over 18. Entry is £10 with a minimum sponsorship target of £20. For more information, contact 0800 9521133, email [email protected] or visit www.rainbows.co.uk/mansfieldwalk
