Miss Galaxy Notts to visit hospital

Young patients at King’s Mill Hospital will be treated to a surprise visit from Miss Galaxy Nottinghamshire, Hollie Hughes, on Tuesday.

Hollie, from Blyth, won the Miss Galaxy Nottinghamshire 2014/15 earlier this year. She will compete for Miss Galaxy England in February, next year.

She said: “Hospitals can be quite daunting places for children, I know this from personal experience with my three-year-old daughter Ava Rose.

“I hope my visit will help young patients focus on happy thoughts rather than the stress of being in hospital.”

She added: “I would like to thank Toymaster for donating new toys for me to give to young patients during my visit.”

Hollie is also fundraising for The Christie charity, which raises funds to support NHS patients with cancer. To donate visit: www.justgiving.com/hollie-hughes

Nicola Armstrong, play leader at King’s Mill Hospital, said: “We are looking forward to Miss Galaxy Nottinghamshire’s visit as our young patients always enjoy special visits from guests. It’s not every day that we have a local beauty queen grace our wards.”
