The first ever Active Mansfield Mile and a Bit fun run took place on Saturday. More than 90 people registered for the event and ran, jogged or walked around a 2km circuit at Manor Park Sports Complex, Mansfield Woodhouse.

The event was part of Active Mansfield’s drive to get people more active. It was supported by Cerebral Palsy Sport and participants were encouraged to raise money for the charity.

Coun Philip Shields, portfolio holder for the environment at Mansfield District Council, said: “Despite the heat, the event was a great success and hopefully next year there will be even more participants.”
