Mansfield men bare all to raise money for King’s Mill Hospital and coronavirus victim

Posted onPosted on 22nd Apr

A group of Mansfield men are baring all again six years after their naked calendar raised £5,500 for the town’s Fountaindale School.

This time they will be raising money for the NHS — specifically King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton — as a thank you for its work in fighting the coronavirus.

They will also be raising money for the family of a former ambulance worker, who is one of the local victims of Covid-19.

One of the men, Shaun Eden-Taylor, whose son George went to Fountaindale, said: “The original gang, along with some well-known people from the area, have re-formed to produce a new Mansfield’s Naked Calendar Men 2020/2021.

“We hope to raise a lot of money for our fantastic NHS, and specifically Kings Mill Hospital, by selling lots of calendars to a wide audience.

“This idea has only been re-born this weekend so it is a work in progress, but the first thing you can do to support us and our NHS, is to follow our Facebook page Mansfield’s Naked Calendar men – Kingsmill NHS fund.”

The fundraisers are now looking for businesses to come forward over the next few months to sponsor pages.

Mansfield business Linney Print has offered to print the calendars free and details of how and where to buy the calendars will be posted on the Facebook page.

Malk Hall, of Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies, Mansfield, one of the sponsors and a model this time around, said: “The lads did a great job last time and raised a good sum of money, so we want to make this one bigger and better.

“We want to include as many models as possible so I offered to involve some of my sporting contacts.”

These include Nathan Eggleshaw, head coach of Paviors Rugby Union Football Club and Adam Bates, from Sherwood Wolf Hunt Rugby League Football Club.
