Jobseekers urged to take Steps 4 Success

Jobseekers in Mansfield and Ashfield have the chance to get a helping hand into employment at free workshops organised by Nottinghamshire County Council.

The Steps 4 Success workshops will be taking place over two consecutive weeks at County Council Work Club sessions held at Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Mansfield libraries later this month:

•Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library, Ashfield Precinct: Friday 21 and Friday 28 November (9.30am-12.30pm)
•Mansfield Library, Four Seasons Shopping Centre, West Gate: Wednesday 26 November and Wednesday 3 December (9.30am-12.30pm).

The workshop will cover confidence building, motivation, health and wellbeing and other practical steps jobseekers an take to improve their employability.

Those taking part need to attend both sessions. The course is free, but booking is required. Call Denise Stephenson, Work Club Co-ordinator at Nottinghamshire County Council on 07775 588 756.

Councillor Diana Meale, Chair of Economic Development Committee at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “If you are unemployed or looking for a change in career, our work clubs are a good place to get support and pick up valuable tips and information.

“The work clubs regularly host events covering all aspects of finding a job, as well as being a place to meet and share ideas with other people in the same position.”

Nottinghamshire County Council runs nine work clubs across the county, all based in libraries.
