The Joseph Whitaker School Jazz Band played to an appreciative audience at the Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir’s September Song concert.

The band from the Rainworth school, conducted by Carolyn Beedle, of Nottingham Music Tuition Ltd — the school’s instrumental music tuition providers — was invited to play a selection of songs from its ever-growing repertoire of well-known jazz music.

Many members of the choir and audience commented positively about the band, praising the quality and confidence of the playing ability.

The appearance by the jazz band followed on from a very successful guest slot at the Ravenshead Swing Band’s summer concert.
