Helping people with mental health difficulties into the workforce

Posted onPosted on 13th Nov

A service that helps people with mental health difficulties find employment is offering to work with businesses in mid-Nottinghamshire to help them strengthen their workforces.

Future’s Positive – part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – is an employment support service for people who are under the care of secondary mental health services in Mansfield, Ashfield, and Newark and Sherwood.

Future’s Positive says it works with motivated and capable job seekers, helping them to achieve their career aspirations in line with their skills, experience and strengths.

A spokesman said: “The service also supports employers by helping them to recruit the right candidates in line with their company vision.

“Employers that work with Future’s Positive benefit from gaining skilled employees from the local community free of charge, access to valuable resources to help promote a mentally healthy workplace, recognition on Future’s Positive social media, and support in becoming a disability confident employer.”

The service would suit employers wanting to recruit into their workforce from within their local community and who may be interested in looking at inclusive recruitment strategies to help recruit from a diverse pool of skilled people.
