Flying high for charity

TWO teaching assistants from Mansfield’s Flying High Academy, Joe Young and Wendy Soar, raised money for Cancer Research, including through a skydive.

Both women did a tandem jump with experts from Langar Airfield Parachute School, raising money through donations, sponsorship, a non-uniform day and cake sales at the academy.

Joe said: “We chose the charity because a friend at work was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas and is currently undergoing treatment. Thankfully she is doing well.”

So far the pair have raised £1,700 and funded the jumps themselves.
