Around 60 retired firefighters from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Retired Members Association visited Mansfield Fire Museum for an open afternoon.
Organised by museum trustees and Trevor Newton, a retired assistant chief fire officer from the 1980s, the visit could become an annual event.
“It was so good to see many old faces, some from over 30 years ago, who shared stories from the 1970s and 1980s,” said Paul Horton, communications officer. “We would like to thank everyone for coming to see us. We thoroughly enjoyed it.”
The group viewed the museum’s fire service memorabilia and also had a look around Mansfield’s state-of-the-art fire station and its fire appliances.
