Ecology gift creates a buzz

To mark World Wildlife Day, David Wilson Homes provided Dalestorth Primary and Nursery School, Sutton, with a selection of RSPB bird feeders and bird seed.

The donation was part of the developer’s continuous efforts to support and encourage wildlife in Nottinghamshire, as well as giving young children the opportunity to view a range of birds in their natural habitat as the weather gets warmer.

Headteacher Craig Robertson, pictured with some of the pupils, said: “Our children are really keen to observe how the bird feeders are used and to identify the varieties of bird we get in our habitat.”

Rachael Harrison, sales director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, which is building homes at The Hawthorns development near the school, added: “We view it as our duty to help wildlife thrive in the communities where we build new homes.

“We hope our donation will help educate the children about birds and inspire them to celebrate spotting new species on their grounds.”

David Wilson Homes has partnered with the RSPB since 2014 to show how new homes and homeowners can help nature and support wildlife.
