Easter surprise from school

Students from Samworth Church Academy, Mansfield, have surprised their neighbours by delivering Easter presents to their doors.

Lauren Buchanan, a sixth form student at the Academy, said doing that kind of act had become part of her Academy life.

“It was great fun to deliver the Easter gifts to our neighbours and is the sort of thing we are accustomed to doing at the Academy.

“The people were surprised and pleased with the gifts and we all had a lovely time delivering them.”

Mrs Smedley, of Stuart Avenue, Forest Town, said it was nice to see the students and receive a gift.

Mr Froggatt, also of Stuart Avenue, said: “It’s a surprise to me! I am grateful and wish them all A Happy Easter.”

Cathrine Severn from the Academy said “Our students get a lot of pleasure from giving ]Easter gifts and we hope our neighbours enjoy receiving them

“We hope it helps to reinforce community ties and especially to socialise different age groups together.”
