Celebrating volunteers

Posted onPosted on 24th May

Mansfield and Warsop MP Ben Bradley is supporting Volunteers’ Week 2022, an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering.

Volunteers Week takes place from 1st to 7th June every year and the 38th annual Volunteers’ Week is taking place during the #MonthOfCommunity.

Running throughout June, #MonthOfCommunity brings together organisations with a range of events in order to encourage us all to think about and join in with activities happening in our local communities.

Ben said: “Volunteers’ Week is a fantastic opportunity to thank volunteers across Nottinghamshire for everything they do. We saw how vital volunteers are to our communities during the pandemic – we wouldn’t have been able to get through it without them! “

“Here in Mansfield, we are lucky to have so many incredible volunteers. Whether it’s those helping neighbours throughout Covid or working in the vaccination centres, those who support our communities by making it possible to have sports clubs or local scouts and guides that simply could not function without volunteers, or people like Craig French who gives up a huge amount of time to raise thousands for charity through his FrenBot football game every year. There are so many examples, and our whole community is indebted to those people!”
