Windfall for caring charity

Posted onPosted on 22nd Dec

A Mansfield charity was among 12 good causes sharing a £50,000 donation from the Nottingham Building Society’s Samuel Fox Foundation charitable fund.

Nominated by staff of The Nottingham, with a focus on supporting communities with the cost-of-living crisis, the charities included Jigsaw Support Scheme, Mansfield, which provides services to allow vulnerable people to live better, safer and happier lives in their own homes.

In total, The Samuel Fox Foundation donated almost £110,000 to local charities in 2022.

Set up in 2021 and named after the man who founded The Nottingham in 1849, The Samuel Fox Foundation prioritises supporting projects and causes that help communities thrive.

Sue Hayes, chief executive officer at the building society, said: “For over 170 years The Nottingham has been here to support communities. It’s intrinsic to who we are as a mutual.

“This Christmas, we thought it only fitting that our amazing colleagues were given the chance to nominate charities they know are making a different to their local area, to be the beneficiaries of funds from the foundation.

“The majority are small organisations doing incredible work in their communities.”
