Mansfield-based Total Integrated Solutions (TIS), a specialist provider of cutting-edge integrated fire safety and security solutions, has seen private equity house Key Capital Partners (KCP) completed a significant investment to support its continued growth and expansion.

TIS is a design-led fire, security and communications integrator that installs, maintains and services systems, with leading credentials across a broad range of sectors including retirement villages, open space CCTV and Smart City installations, the Ministry of Defence and further education.

Over the past nine years owner and chief executive James Twigg has expanded the technical capability of the business and significantly grown revenue and profitability, driven by a strategy of delivering innovative and high-quality solutions.

The deal sees KCP acquire a significant minority stake in the business that employs 140 staff across five sites.

James will remain as CEO, supported by a highly-experienced executive team. James Hall, managing partner at KCP, who led the investment alongside Matt Tice, will also join the Board alongside Ted Goold, who will join as non-executive chairman.

James Twigg commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be partnering with KCP on the next stage of our growth. KCP are the perfect partner for me and my team as they share my passion for delivering market leading solutions and service levels. The partnership will also bring many opportunities for my incredibly talented team to grow with the business as we strive together to really make a difference to our customers strategies, assets and people.”

James Hall added: “TIS is an exceptional business delivering a fantastic design led solution in a way that is unique in the market and highly valued by its customers and partners. We are extremely excited about working with James and his team as the requirement for converged smart systems over the next few years really gathers pace.”

Legal advice was provided to KCP by David Parker and Pete Wood, of Addleshaw Goddard, with RSM providing financial and tax due diligence services and commercial due diligence provided by Armstrong. TIS were advised by James Ward of Smith Cooper and Vicky Elliott of Gateley.

KCP continues to be an active investor, making equity investments of between £3m and £15m and has a strong reputation for deliverability as well as a track record of producing outstanding returns for its investors.
