Silver award for transport company

Posted onPosted on 7th Dec

B. Taylor & Sons Transport Ltd has been accredited with a silver award by the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS).

The Huthwaite-based transport, logistics, and warehousing company gained the accreditation to add to its previous bronze award.

The award confirms that the transport fleet side of the business uses good practice, environmental factors, and meets requirements laid out by the FORS Standard.

At the silver level Taylor’s Transport met requirements for the Construction Logistics and Community Safety Scheme and with Transport for London’s freight safety initiative to reduce danger on the roads.

The bronze award mandated basic safety equipment to prevent cyclists being dragged under the wheels in a collision.

Gaynor Corkhill (above), compliance manager, said: “I’m very proud to have played my part in achieving this accreditation.

“By following the FORS standards we are not only doing our bit to reduce work-related road risk and keeping vulnerable road users safe, but we are lessening our impact on the environment by implementing strategic planning and routing for our vehicles, to help minimise fuel emissions in urban areas, especially around schools and hospitals.”

Managing director Alan Taylor added: “This accreditation offers peace of mind for the company managing its work-related road risk.”
