Mansfield-based fire, security and communications specialists TIS has recorded the best year in its 65-year history with sales revenues and profits at an all-time high.

The company, which employs 140 staff at its headquarters on Oakham Business Park, generated revenue of £13.186m in the period to 31st December, 2015, an increase of 22% on the previous year. Profit before tax also increased by 58%.

Over the past 12 months, TIS has appointed 20 new members of staff and recruited eight apprentices. A further 20 new jobs are set to be created to enable the company to cope with increased demand.

Much of its current success has been attributed to an innovative new business strategy, designed to drive growth over five years.

Major developments have included a rebrand and name change for the business, a company restructure to match business needs to output, a change in culture and a new ethos of continuous improvement, along with continued investment in the business to generate profit.

The company has set itself a target of achieving sales of more than £20m by 2018.
