Record turnover for Woodhead Group

Posted onPosted on 21st Jan

Edwinstowe-based construction firm Woodhead Group is celebrating after exceeding its 2015 targets and achieving record turnover of just over £43m.

It said by approaching projects differently and focusing on creating a better experience for all, the group had seen a sales growth of 27%.

Managing director David Woodhead said: “We have grown at quite a pace over the last few years and what has been achieved has been remarkable.

“I’m proud and grateful for all the hard work put in by our staff and supply chain. Our achievements, whether they are related to projects or individuals, are a testament to everyone.”

The company said it would be revealing a refreshed corporate identity in time for its 70th birthday celebrations in the summer.

In 2015, two projects completed by the company hosted royal visits, work began on a number of landmark projects and more than 10 national and regional industry awards were won.

Woodhead Enterprise has seen new tenants take residency at Edwinstowe House.

The group launched a three-year work experience programme through the B.I.G. Initiative and delivered its successful Good To Gold training programme, which provided 476 training places to members of its supply chain and staff.

Two Woodhead employees were recognised for excellence — Michael Broadhurst received the Construction Excellence Young Achiever of the Year Award and Anthony Leach was named LABC East Midlands Site Manager of the Year.

Long-service milestones were achieved by site manager Don Wilson, 50 years; joiner Dave Mason, 35 years; and project administrator Melanie Bainbridge, 20 years.
