Ecommerce website developer and on-line marketing specialists Purpose Media is ensuring its finances are kept on the straight and narrow following the appointment of Paul McKenzie in a full-time role as finance and operations director.

With over 20 years of experience, Paul (42) has held senior board level financial roles with companies that range in size from FTSE 100 listed companies down to smaller businesses turning over £15m located across Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Paul joins Purpose Media from Omega Red Group Ltd, a subsidiary of South Staffordshire PLC, the UK’s largest lightning protection company, where he was head of finance and company secretary.

Purpose Media is based in South Normanton and is current holders of the Derbyshire’s Small Business of the Year award,

Purpose Media managing director Matt Wheatcroft said: “Paul will join our board and play a crucial role to in the next stage of our growth. He will help develop and execute our future strategy whilst also developing our processes and people to ensure the rest of the management team can focus on their individual areas of responsibility.”

Paul added: “Robust financial and operational foundations already exist at Purpose Media. However I am looking forward to using my past knowledge and experience to refine them further so that customers continue to enjoy a return on investment from their website project, and Purpose Media continues growing and achieving profit and revenue targets.”

Paul holds a BA (hons) in European Finance & Accounting, Dipl. Betr. from the Hochschule Bremen, a university in Germany. He qualified as an accountant in 1999 and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA).

Originally from Durham, Paul recently completed the Great North Run, and is also keen on most sports including football and ice hockey, which he enjoys with wife Louise and his 12-year-old son, Keiron. He is currently chairman of the governing body at Pinxton’s Kirkstead Junior School.
