Dispensing optician Peter Herniman visited Garibaldi College, Forest Town, to give a motivational speech.

Peter presented a lecture to Year 10 students on how to keep ahead of the game in the world of work.

He works for local independent opticians Pinders, which has five practices in north Nottinghamshire.

The speech was part of Pinders’ Inspiring The Future campaign, an initiative designed to engage local young people in the world of work and opportunities available to them.

The campaign aims to deliver practical business advice to supplement the help and support available within the education system.

“Pinders are so passionate about supporting our future workforce and after spearheading this campaign for the last two years, I feel this strategy is working,” Peter said.

“I strongly feel teachers, industry experts and careers advisors working together is the best way to get our young people ready for work.”
