A family-run flooring business has invested in a new base in Mansfield.

Wilsons Carpets was founded by Bill Wilson in 1968 and has stores in Doncaster, Thorne, Scunthorpe, Rotherham, Barnsley, Pontefract, Gainsborough, Retford, Lincoln, Sheffield and Hull.

Its new 16,000sq ft operation on Great Central Road, Mansfield, is one of the company’s largest. It sells carpets, wood flooring, vinyls, rugs and artificial grass.

James Wilson, director of the Mansfield branch, said: “The Wilsons Carpets brand has come a long way since its humble beginnings back in 1968.

“The new Mansfield store will be our 14th. After working for the family business, the new store is my own venture under the Wilsons Carpets brand and I hope to put my own stamp on things here.”
