Mansfield firm launches Apprenticeship Academy

Posted onPosted on 20th Jun

Mansfield-based life safety and security systems integrator company TIS, is investing in supporting young people seeking careers in engineering with its new Apprenticeship Academy.

The company has seen first-hand the lack of engineering talent entering the industry, and is aiming to offer both comprehensive training as well as more secure career prospects and experience in the rapidly expanding life safety and security industry.

The Apprenticeship Academy will:

  • Offer a rigorous, 36-month apprenticeship programme to new recruits and aim to give more stable career prospects to young people within the rapidly expanding and demanding life safety and security industry

  • Partner with Skills for Security via multiple office locations, including Mansfield, Nottingham, Coleshill (West Midlands), Leeds and Uxbridge, to  offer apprentices a practical alternative to further education

  • Nurture the next generation of multi-skilled engineers and help tackle the youth unemployment spike in the UK  which has resulted in 61,000 more young people becoming ‘economically inactive’ compared to pre-pandemic levels, an increase of 2%.

Potential apprentices can apply to enrol in the Apprentice Academy here: https://tis.co.uk/tis-careers/

TIS said its academy would provide apprentices with essential engineering or vocational skills for the future. Once qualified they will become part of a team that plays a key role in protecting customers’ people, places and spaces.

The TIS Academy takes the traditional apprenticeship approach and “turbocharges it to enhance your all-round abilities, helping you to become the very best that you can be.”

The TIS Academy also offers apprenticeships in design and consultancy, workshop repairs, accounts, HR and administration.
