Fundraisers hit target for school

A MANSFIELD company has raised £40,000 for Fountaindale SEN School within two years.

Industrial supplies company Hall-Fast smashed its target after raising £13,555 at its second annual charity ball.

The Nottingham Road School helps youngsters aged three to 19 with severe physical and sensory needs and the money will help buy equipment for its new building, which is expected to open later this year.

Hall-Fast began its fundraising campaign almost two years ago and has staged a number of events, including a coast-to-coast bike ride.

The Anglia Way-based firm has also raised money with three sporting clubs — Mansfield Town, Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Rugby — that it partners.

Hall-Fast managing director Malk Hall said: “We are proud to have raised such a substantial amount of money in such a relatively short period of time.

“I thank every person and company that has sponsored us, without their support this would not have been possible.”

It is hoped the final total will be boosted by further sponsorship from the coast-to-coast ride and a fundraising night on 17th July at the Mint restaurant in Mansfield.

Mark Dengel, Fountaindale principal, said: “£13,555 raised in one night is an unbelievable amount.

“The money will make a real difference to the lives of many of our children with disabilities by allowing us to purchase specialist equipment, which will help them to make sense of their world, to communicate and to make real choices and decisions about their lives.”
