Experienced land director returns to housebuilder

Posted onPosted on 10th Nov

A new land director has been appointed at a Mansfield housebuilder bringing with him more than 25 years’ experience, specialising in land deals.

Carl Oxley joins Persimmon Homes Nottingham and aims to develop its land acquisition programme across Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.

The 45-year-old is returning to Persimmon as a director, having previously been a senior land manager for the Midlands regional office. During this four-year stint, starting in 2013, Carl was responsible for securing and developing land in Mansfield to create the headquarters for the Nottingham regional business, which was launched in 2017.

“I am really pleased to be returning to Persimmon and especially the Nottingham team as this is my home patch, being from Sutton-in-Ashfield,” said Carl.

Starting out as an apprentice bricklayer for Bryant Homes, Carl had the opportunity to work with the land and planning team and never looked back. His carefully crafted career path has seen him steadily progress from Land Manager to senior roles and then directorships for high profile housebuilders including Ben Bailey Homes, Harron Homes and Countryside Partnerships.

Carl added: “Having recently secured land in Bolsover, Hucknall and Calverton, my ongoing strategy includes monitoring further land activity and securing new opportunities while strengthening relationships within the associated field.”

Neil Follows, Managing Director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “We are delighted to welcome Carl back to the business. His expertise is an asset for the team and will play an integral role in our strategic plan to grow our development portfolio across the region.”

When not securing land deals, keen beekeeper Carl can be found coaching his son’s under 13s football team, Quarrydale United.
