Entrepreneur the face of national youth campaign

Katrina Atherton, founder of Mansfield business A-Star Media, has been used by the Government to encourage young people into business.

She has been used as a case study by the Department for Communities and Local Government, urging young people to think about starting their own business.

Katrina started A-Star Media, a corporate film production company, with business partner John Starkie and they have gone on to work with large organisations and small businesses across the country.

She said: “I do a lot of work locally to encourage young people to think about starting a business, so it’s great to be involved with a national campaign.

“Young people are full of new ideas, but it’s normally a lack of confidence that stops them having a go.

“I’d tell anyone, young or old, just go for it.

“No one will hold it against you for trying and if you don’t succeed you’ve got the experience to go forward.”
