Educational skills company flies high

A Mansfield-based company which specialises in GCSE and functional skills learning online, has been presented with a prestigious national award.

Leading online education provider, bksb Ltd is proud to hold the ICT Company of the Year award through the British Educational Training and Technology Show (BETT) Awards 2016

The BETT show is annual trade show which showcases the use of information technology in education and the awards play a key role in identifying and rewarding excellence in this sector. The bksb team collected their award from Dominic Savage, the director general of British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA).

Judges gave bksb a score of 10 out of 10 for their award entry, citing that the products meet the needs of organisations and that the company provides the highest level of customer care and standards.

Managing director Harvinder Atwal, who collected the award said: “Having been with bksb since its inception as an in-house English, maths and ICT solution over 20 years ago, I’m absolutely thrilled that our business and all of its employees have been recognised and rewarded with a Bett Award.”

“Winning ‘ICT Company of the Year’ is a real honour, and gives us even greater motivation to innovate and improve our outstanding products and services for our customers.”

A subsidiary of West Nottinghamshire College, bksb, is based at the i2Centre, off Hamilton Way, and has seen its online learning resources used by more than 25 million people and thousands of education-providers across the world since it launched almost 20 years ago.

In the UK alone, over 84% of colleges and hundreds of schools, training providers, local authorities and employers use its solutions to improve teaching and learning.
